Who is Vince?

 Vince and Fion's New Place

Those who have been keeping track especially closely know that Fion and I rented a flat for a while, but since that never felt like home there wasn't much to say.  The only really noteworthy thing about the rented flat was that although it was much closer to the city than our first home, there was only one narrow, curvy road which reached that neighbourhood, and it was too small to support commercial activities, so it wasn't very convenient to live there, especially without a car.

I have plenty of experience with long commutes but the daily travel was just grinding me down.  In order to free up some time to study, Fion and I decided to look for a place which was close to the bus for school and which was more central.

At first we were pretty skeptical about the idea of living in the city, but it has slowly grown on us.  There are certainly a different set of tradeoffs, mostly the air quality, but overall city life hasn't been too bad, and the convenience is sweet.

In the years between when our place in the country was built and when our home in the city was designed, buildings have become much taller; now sixty stories and more are common. We used to live on the 27th floor and were close to the top of our building. Now we lived on the 29th floor and were just under two thirds of the way up. And our building wasn't even particularly tall! Luckily, as seen above, we just cleared the adjacent buildings so at least we could see a tiny slice of ocean.
